Anyone familiar with the movie “Steel Magnolias” remembers the line uttered by Shelby: “Pink is my signature color.” Well, substitute the word ‘purple’ for ‘pink’ and you’ll get an idea of my signature color. So when my old messenger bag went kaput (right after the start of the new semester, naturally), I frantically searched for a replacement. Lo and behold, JanSport’s Market Street Messenger Bag in Black/Electric Purple Flitter popped up and seemed to fit the bill (and seeing as how I love butterflies as well, it all seemed perfectly synchronicitous [I don't think that's a real word, but, hey, making up words worked for Shakespeare]).

The pluses: 1.) The strap is fairly sturdy and, with the adjustable shoulder pad, allows for comfortable carrying. The strap itself is adjustable in length, allowing the bag to be carried closer to the body for security if desired. 2.) The padded back panel is nice. Even though I don’t currently carry a laptop, should I need to for school, I won’t have to worry about cracking it against the floor or desk. Plus, the padding carries around to the side panels as well as to the bottom, so any device put into that back pocket will be well protected. 3.) The front flap is also padded, so although the pocket is small, should I carry an e-reader or a tablet rather than a laptop and put it in the front flap, it’d still be well-protected from any jouncing, jostling or random hard knocks. 4.) The Velcro closure on the front flap allows for quick access, which is nice on those days when I’m running late to class and I have to get my crap out quickly to catch up.

The minuses: 1.) It doesn’t hold quite as much as my old bag. My old messenger bag had an expandable bottom, which meant it could go from huge to back-strain huge. This bag doesn’t have an expandable bottom, so once you reach its B.S.L., that’s it. (Every bag comes with its own built-in B.S.L. [Bag Stuffage Limit]. Once you reach that limit, it’s really not wise to exceed it and JanSport has nicely provided a measurement of how much you can stuff into its Market Street Messenger Bag [1345 cu. in/22L] so hopefully you don’t reach the point of bag explosion or back implosion.) Currently, I’ve only got one (really thick) textbook and one large 3-ring binder in the bag and while technically there should be room for at least another textbook and a few more binders and folders, it already feels a bit…I won’t say cramped, but it is cozy in there. So it isn’t the roomiest of bags. 2.) The description says it has a side mesh pocket to hold a water bottle, but it doesn’t. I don’t know if this feature was on an older model of the Market Street bag which was then discontinued or is only available in certain colors. I do know it was rather disappointing when I received the bag. 3.) The organization pockets for pencils and whatnot is on the inside of the front panel, which is awkward and inconvenient. It would’ve been better placed on the outside of the front panel, where a mesh zippered pocket currently sits. Not only that, but the pencil pockets (of which there are only two) are on the small side. My mechanical pencil doesn’t fit into either one, so that’s rather a poor design. 4.) I wish it had at least one more pocket. It’s got the interior pocket for a laptop and the smaller pocket on the flap for books or whatever and that’s it. It would’ve been nice to have had an additional pocket on the back panel of the bag, just to have more storage. Again, to refer to my old messenger bag, it had five pockets, so that there was room for everything.

All-in-all, while I don’t see what the fuss is all about concerning JanSport (this is my first purchase of the brand), I can’t say I’m too disappointed. Then again, I can’t say I’m too impressed either. However, the bag is sturdy enough and if I get five years of good use out of it, then I’ll have gotten my money’s worth and that’s something I can’t complain about.

Pretty, January 11, 2012

I’m a college student who takes alternate semesters lightly (my workload is heaviest in the fall) and I wanted an alternate bag for books. This one is pretty and useful. High quality and highly recommended.

Great workhouse computer for business, December 13, 2008

The Dell Latitude line of notebooks are well built business machines. The Latitudes and XPS lines are a tier higher than the entry-level Inspiron Series.

The case is constructed of metal with plastic trim along the LCD monitor. There are 4 USB ports which allow for a variety of peripherals to be attached such as portable hard drives. There is a headphone and microphone jack and an outlet for a monitor. The keyboard is comfortable to the touch. In addition to the mousepad, there is a pointing stick with 2 buttons below the space key, allowing for either to control the cursor. The ‘spill proof’ keyboard is one of the biggest assets (I have only spilled a drink on it once, where I just wiped off the keyboard without a problem in function).

The WIFI capabilities is reliable and easy to set up. The hard drive is quiet, as is the optical drive. The strike zone hard drive is resistant to light drops.

Performance of the notebook is excellent with the Dual Core processors. This notebook easily handles virus scanning, working on a MS Office document, internet browser and listening to music without any problem. The integrated graphics allows for basic games like Tiger Woods Golf, Mafia, NHL Hockey, the Godfather, for example.

Battery life is very good for the 6 cell (about 4 hours).

One of the greatest attractions that I have for this line of notebooks is the lack of ‘bloatware’ – unnecessary programs that are installed into your computer (trial programs, multiple internet service providers, advertisements, etc).

Overall, with a spill resistant keyboard and drop zone hard drive, this notebook will take the daily knocks of the regular commuter. This is no Panasonic Toughbook but it will survive your daily use.

VERDICT

Highly recommend this notebook.

Bargain Notebook, January 4, 2010

I purchased the D620 for my daughter in college when her 2 yr old HP notebook died due to an overheating problem (long story). After verifying that the D620 worked properly by connecting to the internet and installing XP SP 3, I moved over one of the RAM chips (for a total of 1.5 GB) and the harddrive from the HP. I then installed Windows 7 and recovered her data files (I didn’t really expect a college student to use the flash drives that I gave her for backups). Finally, I installed software including Office 7. Throughout the process the D620 performed flawlessly. I tested it by running DVDs, Office apps and videos over the internet (after I set up a wireless connection). This is one fine notebook, very fast and with a good display. Its only “short comings” are obvious from the specs, i.e., no web cam, no media slots and no DVD burner. But these are clearly minor issues given the price.

Used Dell Latitude D620 laptop, February 10, 2010

I used the same laptop at work for the about the last 3 years, and it is a work horse. I can buy a brand new commercial laptop for couple hundred bucks more, but I wanted the reliability of the professional business laptop. I have to say this used business machine Laptop works well except for 3 problems: First, the battery only lasts 5 minutes, second, the DVD burner drive work sporadically (DVD door doesn’t eject consistently, and it doesn’t always detect the DVD or CD in it). Handed the laptop to my 11 year old daughter few weeks after purchase (Christmas gift), so I did not find out about these problems until 2 month after purchase. Contacted the seller, but the warrantee had expired after 30 days of purchase, so I have to buy a battery and drive on my own. Third thing, the XP pro operating system was loaded on the computer, but the recovery disks were not included; I hope the hard the hard drive doesn’t crash sometime soon.

dead battery, September 28, 2010

This battery did not last more than a week. I followed the instructions and charged it overnight then let it die completely- rinse and repeat. I did the cycle 4 times. The first charge lasted about 50 minutes. Second charge, 1 hour 10 minutes. Third charge lasted about 1 hour. The fourth charge is when the battery died. The battery was at 52% and it shut down. I tried charging it overnight- the next morning, it was completely dead. I did notice, however, that when it was working, the computer was running significantly cooler than with the original battery.

Needless to say, I am returning it for a full refund. This is frustrating.

Not as good as the Maxpedition Fatboy but $ $ $ saver, February 17, 2010

I have worked alongside actual field operators who carried the Maxpedition Fatboy and other Maxpedition products. I have been able to “test” the Fatboy. The main difference between the Fatboy and the UTG messenger bag I’d say is the feel of it. Where the Fatboy feels ergonomically sound and “made for you”, the UTG bags falls a bit short. I’m right handed; the UTG bag feels a bit like it was made for left side carry, but not to the point that it would affect a quick weapon draw out of the concealment compartment. I haven’t seen the UTG bag offered in the right and left side carry option. This might be the reason why it feels like a left side carry as the manufacturer may have tried to cut costs by building a bag to fit right and left side carriers. I’d say that it all comes down as to how the bag fits you. Personally is not something that bothers me much at all. All that said, I know that when it comes to field performance, comfort and “right feel” is not something to skimp on. I bought the UTG bag for some field usage, but mainly to have something to carry my weapon, mags, sunglasses, flashlight, creds, water, etc after getting off from work. The UTG bag’s construction, zippers and buckles seem well suited for field operations, but only time will tell, but as of now I’m sticking to the UTG bag. At about %50 off or more from the Maxpediton’s Fatboy price with free S&H from Amazon and good materials and crafstmanship, the UTG bag is a keeper. Unless of course you just want a Maxpedition label to show. I’d have given the UTG bag a 4 1/2 star rating, but not an option.

UPDATE: It’s been almost 2 years since I started using this bag, and it’s still going strong. I don’t go anywhere w/o this bag.

Here are a few of the cons I have noticed:

-The shoulder strap could be of better quality and a bit thicker

-The shoulder strap pad tends to slide towards the rear sometimes

-The main compartment could use a zipper instead of a drawstring

-The key ring could be of better quality

-The flap cover/compartment could open forward/away instead of of having to unbuckle and having to lift as some of the Maxpedition brand do

-The nylon drawstrings could be replaced with 550 cord

-The zippers are loud from a TACTICAL viewpoint and could/should be replaced with 550 cord or the better Chums Zipquix zipper pulls

Some reviews state that the stitching is subpar and comes undone. I haven’t noticed this with my bag, but I’d be willing to say that since these bags are made in China, it’s possible that the bags are made at different manufacturing facilities and this could account for the issue.

Another reviewer stated the concealment compartment’s zipper could not be operated with one hand. I haven’t had any problems in this department. I can perform a fairly quick one-handed draw considering that this is not a holster. That said, I highly recommend taking the bag to your local range and testing it fully by drawing, shooting, shooting and moving and reloading from your selected pouch before you find yourself in a situation where you need to have quick access to your weapon.

Another review I read mentioned that having to pull a zipper to access a concealed weapon is not much of a concealment. Once again, I bought this bag to carry off-duty, and if and in the event an active shooter scenario would develop. If you want to have something that offers more concealment, I suggest an inside the pants/pancake holster or maybe the Lunata or Remora bags from Maxpedition. If you check them out you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Conclusion: If you are buying this bag to carry camera equipment, manly diaper-bag (LOL), or to carry a few things when out for a quick hike, this bag more than will suffice and won’t disappoint. The price makes it twice as nice also.

Affordable option, but not without its flaws, June 6, 2010

[UPDATE: thanks to Amazon recently lowering the price of the Maxpedition item, I've since acquired the real Versipack that this UTG was cloned from and now have amended this review in certain areas now that I can do direct comparisons between the two.]

I originally opted to buy this UTG messenger bag as a less costly way of picking up a concealed carry satchel. Having seriously looked at and handled the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack original at local shops I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the real deal and, except for my initial hesitation over the price, would’ve gladly have added that pack to my collection of gear bags. But being the cheap bugger that I can be and despite the fact that I didn’t actually handle one beforehand, I opted for this UTG clone instead and haven’t regretted the decision. This is one fine bag at an excellent price point.

For me the UTG differs from the Maxped unit in two significant ways: the quality of the fabric materials–specifically the ballistic nylon thickness and feel–and the zipper pulls. The Versipack uses a slightly stouter nylon that holds the bag’s shape better. The UTG’s nylon is more pliable, and though it feels a bit more flimsy than the Versipack it has the added benefit of allowing greater tolerance for holding oversized gear or objects than would be nearly impossible to stuff into the Maxpedition bag. The stitching on the UTG bag is acceptable, but it looks a bit lower in quality than the Versipack original. Given the price difference the quality differences are understandable, if not perfectly acceptable. That said, the difference in material quality might mean that the UTG will wear down more quickly. In fact, after only a couple of weeks of use, the UTG bag already has some spots where discoloration in the exterior black nylon has occurred, in areas where extra magazines or tools have been poking/pushing against from the inside. I expected this bag to wear, but not quite this fast.

The UTG bag uses all-metal pulls on their zippers, which makes for the noisy racket when handling and moving around with the bag. Maxpedition uses a textile-based elastic pull–think thick bungee cord/paracord or even thick shoelaces and you won’t be far off the mark–which makes for a relatively silent bag when carrying. The first thing I did with the UTG after it arrived was purchase some black elastic cord from a local fabric store and swapped out the metal pull tabs on each of the bag’s zippers. It’s not as clean-looking or as stout as the Maxped’s factory solution, but at least the UTG bag no longer makes a ‘clinking’ racket every time I pick the thing up.

One area I’m not happy with on the UTG is the zipper for the gun compartment; it’s tough if not impossible to operate one-handed because it tends to bind up when trying to open it from a fully closed position. Whether it’s due to the zipper being too long or the nylon material it’s attached to being to soft and pliable, this zipper tends to bend at the forward base of the shoulder strap, which is the cause of the zipper binding and hanging up. To get this zipper to operate properly I have bring across my left hand to tug on the shoulder strap in order to smooth out that hiccup in the zipper just to get the compartment open. The added effort and time needed is not a good thing if someone needs to quickly access the compartment in a life-or-death scenario. On the other hand, the zipper for the same compartment on the Versipack on the other hand operates more smoothly, making it easier to access any item–such as that pistol you suddenly need–that’s held within.

One area I wish both the UTG and Maxped bags were better with is in the depth of their respective main compartments, particularly when I want to use the bag as an impromptu camera bag. Both are too shallow to reasonably fit in a dSLR camera (like my Nikon D300), especially when coupled with any reasonable general purpose zoom lens. The resultant bulk protrudes too much into the surrounding compartments, compromising their usefulness, and more importantly hinders carrying a full-sized semi-auto like an HK USP or even a compact like my Sig P229 or HK P30. As it is I can barely cram in my D300 with a fixed length 35mm lens but there’s not much room for anything else almost anywhere else in the bag. Though more snug that I’d like, I can get my P709 Slim to work while carrying a dSLR, but I can forget about any double-stack pistol options, even in subcompact form. Acting as a camera bag for anything beyond that of a point-and-shooter is not this bag’s forte.

Another complaint is that it would’ve been nice if UTG had added a simple carry handle strap to the top of the bag, much like the one on later Jumbo Versipack designs. Tactical Diaper bag and more!, February 8, 2010

I love this bag! It’s made very well (On par with the maxpedition bags I compared it to), holds a surprising amount of gear, is set up perfectly for a Daddy’s “Tactical Diaper gearslinger,” and can turn around and be used as a “Man-bag” holster/EDC (Every-day carry) bag, and all around zombie apocalypse gear hauler!

An example of the versatility of this bag: At any given time I have 4-6 diapers, baby powder, a compact wipes case, a mayday 2400kcal ration bar, a box cutter, a small first aid kit, a fresh pair of hiking socks, 50′ of Paracord and extra CR123A batteries in just the main pocket (which, consequently has a draw-string closure making it extremely water-resistant). The Nalgene bottle pouch is a PERFECT fit for standard size 16 oz toddler “sippie-cups,” and the top zippered pouch is large enough to hold three powerbars or granola bars, and several pouches of “Fruitsnacks.”

When not being relegated to “Daddy duty” this bag can hold an entire days worth of supplies for Hiking/Geocaching(I’ve fit 14.5 lbs of gear in this bag). The Maxpedition modular holster fits in the back-side pocket and will comfortably secure a Glock 19/23 with a Streamlight TLR-1 mounted to it. The side zippered pouch is the perfect size to holds two Glock hi-capacity mags. The top pouch (when not holding fruit snacks and/or power bars) will fit my Bushnell GPS and extra battery pack AND several “Glowsticks.” MOLLE gear will mount to the bag no problem, affording you additional storage space and modular adaptation.

Overall the design of this bag is an excellent copy of the Maxpedition Versapack right down to the back-side air-flo padding and Velcro belt loop to secure the bag during active wear. The zippers are solid, and the nylon material is very thick and durable. Best of all this bag is 1/3 the cost of the versapack jumbo. Highly recommended for mall trips with the little one or prepping for TEOTWAWKI.

Very good, but could be improved, May 16, 2009

I’ve just bought myself a new bag because the two that I’ve been using in heavy rotation for some years–the Eagle Creek Sidekick and another Eagle Creek bag whose make I haven’t been able to identify–don’t quite fit the bill. The Sidekick is too small for my purposes; the other bag is too large under many circumstances. My new bag, the Urban Explorer Canvas Shoulder Bag, which measures 12″x10″x4″, is in between these two, size-wise.

It’s a very nice bag, and I think it will suit my purposes well, but it’s not perfect. I can’t add pictures here, but I’ve added three to my account on Flickr and annotated them with on-screen notes. In particular, I point out where all the pockets are. The pictures are public, so if you search for “Urban Explorer Black Canvas Shoulder Bag” you should find them.

PROS

* I got the bag for about delivered from Amazon, which you really can’t beat.

* The bag is, to me at least, quite attractive.

* I haven’t run it through any stress tests, of course, but it feels very sturdy.

* It’s the perfect size for me. Large enough to carry a composition book and a couple of hardcovers at least, yet not so big that it feels empty or sags if you’re not carrying any big items.

* It feels comfortable wearing it. This is presumably a function of its size and fabric, but also of its strap….

* The strap–which is adjustable but cannot be removed–is the perfect thickness for the bag. More importantly, it doesn’t slip off your shoulder.

* The bag has a lanyard for keys, which is convenient.

* The bag has 12 pockets (for details of which, click through to the Flickr pics), but not all of these can be counted among the bag’s pluses. The two side pockets, with velcro closures, are handy, however, and seem secure.

CONS

My various objections to the bag can be summed up by saying that the pockets, though numerous (12!), are neither as convenient (many of them) nor as secure (many of them) as one would like. To wit:

* The ID card holder (again, I refer you to the Flickr pictures) may be convenient for some, but I certainly have no need for it, so it’s wasted space.

* There are no pen slots (but one of the three narrow, deep pockets can be used for the purpose).

* The two small velcro pockets on the front of the bag would be great for carrying something like a cell phone, but the velcro doesn’t stay closed! So you can’t trust the pockets for anything of value. They’re essentially useless.

* The main interior pocket is not zippered. There is a zippered compartment within the main compartment, and another in the bag’s flap, but neither’s very convenient for grabbing a wallet from, for example. I’d want the main compartment to be zippered so that when, inevitably, the bag is tossed around or it falls from the bleachers at a softball game, everything won’t fall out of it.

SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT

* Most importantly, add a zipper to the main interior pocket.

* Put snap closures on the small pockets instead of velcro. (Perhaps replace them with one larger but more secure pocket.)

* Get rid of the ID pocket and replace it with something more useful–perhaps another small pocket with snap closure.

Had to Get Another, November 19, 2008

I’m a 6’5″ 240 lb combat vet that carries my stuff in what the military might refer to as a ‘rucksack’. I looked everywhere for something that didn’t look or feel like a ‘purse’, and came across this bag in an Army-Navy store about 6 years ago. I wore it out, using it every day.

I tried several other bags, but they just didn’t work. Then I found the exact duplicate; the same bag. It’s strong canvas, has a tremendous number of pockets, is exteremly well built, wears like iron, and cleans easily. End pockets, interior pockets, a pocket in the cover flap, envelope slots, and compartments with a large main bag. I take it everywhere, all the time. Best ‘Male’ bag out there, bar none.

The bag is durable and comfortable to carry. I love all the pockets. My only complaint would be the width. The main compartment is just wide enough to carry documents, but because the bag does not have reinforcement, the documents bend. I put two pieces of cardboard inside to give some support to the main compartment–problem solved.

Very Nice Laptop, June 5, 2011

I bought this laptop as a family utility machine, it sits in my living room and at least 4 people use it regularly. I was looking for something that was new and had new components, this has a 2nd gen Intel I3 processor along with a USB 3.0 port and bluetooth 3.0. The major pro to this machine is the price along with some new features. The screen display and keyboard are nice as well. It also has a 720P Webcam with facial recognition software and fingerprint reader(it doesn’t always work though). For those that care about noise this thing doesn’t really make any, my previous laptop fan ran a lot.

***Cons***

I took a star off because the machine has lots of crap software on it. It would be nice if you could have the option of just getting it shipped with the OS only. There are also 3 partitions on the hard drive, 1 called HP recovery, 2nd which is FAT32 for HP tools, and a 3rd for everything else. I’m still working on removing crap software, but it still runs fast and boots in 20 – 30 seconds.

***Other***

This is not a gaming laptop so if you want it to play the latest and greatest games look elsewhere. You should be able to play most web games or anything that doesn’t require a dedicated video card.

Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase. I researched for about a month straight and ended up on this one based on highest functionality for the price combined with the newest hardware.

***Update 8/19/2011***

I updated to 5 stars because I am very satisfied with this machine. The processor is really fast and I really like the USB 3.0 backups are super fast. I don’t use the webcam or transport the laptop much so I can’t really comment on that. For the price its an excellent machine.

Review of my laptop, July 18, 2011

We (I and my wife) did our own comparison with other brands and found this to have the best specification and also value for money. It is originally sold for 570-580$ in HP, so getting this at a huge discount from CircuitCity is really great.

Our goal was to find a decent laptop for home use within budget of 400-450$ dollars. We compared HP-Pavilion g6-1b79dx priced at 429.99$ , Toshiba – C655-S5128 at 449.99$ , Toshiba – C655-S5212 at 399.99$ , Dell Inspiron 15R i3-380M at 399$ , Lenovo ideapad z560 at 449.99$ .

For this kind of price, i receive a HD webcam, anti-glare screen, bluetooth and WiFi. Plus i also receive a HDMI port for viewing images/movies on my larger LCD TV. It also comes with Windows 7 (64 bit) which enables the OS to handle large amounts of data (RAM) when compared to 32 bit. The only flaw if i could say so is that it comes with 320 GB Hard drive whereas others might offer you a 500 GB capacity, but who cares! atleast i find the storage capacity enough. Also only HP Probook 4530 XU015UT provides both, bluetooth and WiFi when compared within this price range. (so transfer files from any device to your PC hassle-free)

This is touted as a business laptop in HP website, so you know it means business and not some decorative (read flashy) home laptop. It also comes with a brushed aluminium finish.

This laptop also offers HP enhanced security comes with fingerprint, face detection and other security features which you can enable using HP proprietory software. I found it so good that i ordered 2 of these from Amazon.

We have been using it for about 2 weeks now and thoroughly enjoy watching movies, using WiFi, Skype and other stuff. CircuitCity promptly delivered this to us and i have no reason to complain whatsoever.

Best laptop for this price!, July 11, 2011

This laptops is awesome.

This laptop has the sandy bridge version of the i3 which has really strong integrated graphics card. and very quick processor.

I was actually able to get around 35 FPS on Civilization V on low setting which means I could run smoothly at medium settings, which also means that you can play alot of other games like MW2, Fifa, NFS, Portal, Mirror’s Edge, Red Alert 3, and games at this intensity on low settings. Fifa will surely run on medium settings.

Aside from the specs, The touchpad is a little bit rough at first as if you’re touching very fine sandpaper, but after a while of use you get used to it and realize that it actually works better than glossy touchpads on other laptops.

Also the USB hubs are a little bit hard to get extensions in them, but for me that’s a plus so that the USBs don’t fall off easily.

The screen is really vibrant, although I haven’t tested it in direct sunlight. You will also notice that there is a lot of space beyond the display in the front (a good .5 inch on both sides and like 1.5 inches on the top.)

The speakers are actually really loud and crisp clear.

There is bluetooth built in. And there is two USB 3.0 hubs.

It ways a little bit more than your average 15.6 inch laptop, which I guess is due to the brushed aluminum finish on the back and surrounding the touchpad.

Overall this is the best laptop purchase I have ever made.

Not a deal at all, January 15, 2011

This battery worked fine at first, but it’s lifetime between charges declined steadily for several weeks, and after two months it gave out entirely. My laptop now tells me that it is not working, and it won’t run the laptop more than a few minute when I unplug it.

HP Pavilion Battery, October 29, 2010

The original battery for my HP DV4 died after 16 months. I’ve had this product for about a week and so far so good. It fits perfectly. The battery life is about the same as the OEM battery, which is about 2-3 hours. Also, it’s VERY cheap for a battery. Great investment. Definitely recommend.

Perfect for my DV-6 1030US, April 2, 2011

I searched high and low for a battery that was compatible with my 1030 and while many claimed, only this one worked! It holds life well, quickly recharges. I run my computer at high performance and it still last a while. Highly recommended!

Poor battery, January 28, 2011

I purchased this battery and followed the instructions, allowing it the charge for a full 10 hrs before use. Then I used it til it was completely dead, before charging again.

After doing this, I ran the “HP Battery Check” program. The program told me the battery was faulty and should be replaced. On a full charge, the battery only last for 50 mins.

I am returning this battery.

Nice Item, Arrived with a Tear at Seam, May 21, 2011

As I said in the title, I like this messenger bag; nice pockets and nice material. However…there is a tear in the seams in the front of the bag near the top zipper. This is going to be a bit of a pain to get fixed since it is on a corner and–of course–means three seams intersect at one spot.

I’m not a fan of having to pay my own return costs, so I guess you could add this review to the seller review as well. I should not have to pay to return a defective product…

Just a little small, September 14, 2011

This bag is adorable. I ordered it for my daughter as a school bag, however, she struggles to cram her things in it every morning before school. She still has to carry her lunch and water bottle seperatly. But like I said, it’s very cute! Maybe just not for a student with lots of homework.

Nice bag indeed, just not quite what I’d expected, January 25, 2012

As with everything I’ve ordered through Amazon, this arrived in wonderful condition and much sooner than expected. I don’t mind the bag to be honest, it’s just that online it appears much lighter in colour and has that “vintage” look that drew me to it. I have a penchant for the unusual, things with character. This was just too “new” looking for me. I will likely be returning it, but for no other reason than that.
